Ulm-based pervormance international GmbH has received the German Sustainability Award for its SMART COOLING TEXTILES under the E.COOLINE brand. The award recognises products and solutions that contribute to sustainable transformation. With the cooling technology developed by pervormance, the company provides a solution for personal cooling and adaptation to increasing heat exposure. The textiles require no electrical power connection for the cooling process itself.

Cooling technology for a heat-resilient future

Rising temperatures are creating growing challenges for individuals, businesses and society as a whole. Extreme heat can affect health and reduce productivity in the workplace. According to the Lancet report*, more than 37 million working hours were lost due to heat in Germany in 2023 alone.

This is where pervormance and its E.COOLINE brand come in. The Ulm-based company develops cooling textiles that provide a cooling effect directly to the wearer. They require no electrical power connection for the cooling process itself. Unlike conventional air conditioning, which cools an entire indoor environment, E.COOLINE delivers cooling directly to the body.

E.COOLINE: Smart Cooling made by pervormance

At the heart of E.COOLINE products is a textile cooling technology developed by pervormance. Using the evaporation of water, the technology can provide a cooling capacity of up to 660 watts. It is used in products including cooling vests, shirts, headwear and home textiles and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

Today, E.COOLINE products are used in a variety of settings, including workplaces, sports, health-related applications and leisure activities. pervormance aims to help people reduce thermal strain when exposed to high temperatures.

Combining climate adaptation and health protection

They are our response to the growing health impacts of heat and can help people cope better with high levels of heat exposure.”

pervormance has also commissioned a comparison of CO₂ emissions associated with different cooling approaches. In a defined comparison scenario developed by ClimatePartner, the use of E.COOLINE cooling textiles was found to offer a potential CO₂ reduction of up to 97 percent compared with the air-conditioning solution examined in that scenario. This figure applies exclusively to the specific comparison scenario analysed.

With the German Sustainability Award, the E.COOLINE technology developed by pervormance has received another major distinction. It combines personal cooling with an approach designed to help people adapt to increasing heat exposure.
